Keep what works. Add what grows.

Seascale is committed to designing a system that integrates seamlessly into the daily workflow of fishermen. Our approach is built around a low-touch, low-labor process that minimizes extra effort while maximizing efficiency.

We are actively testing stocking densities, rearing schedules, and operational workflows to ensure that handling scallops is as fast and simple as hauling and setting lobster gear. By keeping the same deck rhythms and ergonomics of lobstering, we eliminate unnecessary complexity and make the addition of aquaculture seamless.

Our focus is on reducing handling time, keeping maintenance to a minimum, and ensuring that every step—from deployment to harvest—is optimized for speed and practicality. Fishermen can tend this gear on their way out to haul, making use of natural pauses in their workflow without disrupting their primary operations.

Lobstermen move their gear seasonally to follow their catch, constantly adjusting to the natural rhythms of the fishery. The Maine Scallop Pot(™) can be repositioned to take advantage of the areas where fishing activity has decreased, allowing it to make use of otherwise idle areas while staying clear of active fishing zones.

The result is a system that works with fishermen, not against them, allowing for a productive and profitable addition to their existing operations.
